Despite the sparse details about Batman’s involvement in Steel Age, our interests have been piqued. Award-winning illustrator Ashley Wood has been teasing us with concept art since the reveal of DC’s alliance with ThreeA at San Diego Comic-Con back in 2014. The project is set in a timeline where “the villains have won, and the robotic versions of legendary heroes like Batman are put into service to combat the forces of evil.” We’re pretty excited about DC’s dedication to the Multiverse and Steel Age is no exception. Stand by for details.
This is the most comprehensive look we’ve gotten at this incarnation of our beloved Batman. You’ll notice the ostentatious shoulder pads and the laced combat boots, but probably not as quickly as you’ll observe the absence of the bat symbol on his chest. In the meantime, the Steel Age “Night” Batman sixth-scale figure is finally available for pre-order. It’s due to ship sometime between July and September. It features two batarangs, 50 points of articulation, and an LED feature makes his eyes light up. You will need your own batteries though.
